Hello friend,

Welcome to my personal homepage and I hope you will enjoy browsing through the pages. My webpage has nothing much to offer but I made it anyway because I wanted to have my very own online refuge, a place where I can channel my energies to when I am having one of my fits of abstraction.

This is actually my second webpage. My very first webpage was hosted by Angelfire. The contents are practically the same but I decided to redesign it and make it easier to edit and update. I also moved it to a new home: Bravenet. Bravenet has lots of cool features, like password-protecting your pages.

When I first started my webpage in July 2003, I knew nothing about HTML programming. All I knew was that I wanted my very own webpage. So I browsed the web and found many tutorial sites. On the 'links' page is a list of the various tutorials and other freebies I made use of. After a week, I had my webpage up and running. It went into several enhancements and redesigns; in October 2003, I finally settled on the design and stayed with it for two years, until this one.

I am proud of my webpage because I made it by typing painstakingly on Notepad all the codes and texts. No page builder program was used. But I did use a web set for the background, graphics and buttons. Otherwise, my pages would all look so plain.

For this latest edition of my webpage, I provided a link to my blog. I intended it to contain the musings of my idle mind but since I am a very private person, I am so used to keeping my thoughts to myself most of the time. So to keep up with the slack, I decided to make my blog a repository of odds and ends, including emails I received over the years that are too good to just keep in my inbox.

I also have a collection of lyrics to some of my favorite songs. I just love listening to music and I wish I could sing, but sad to say, I can't carry a tune, even if my life depended on it.

My poems and quotes page are new, so I have not yet developed a database for my collection. I will have to dig into my treasure chest for bits and pieces collected here and there.

The photo galley used to be my travel page which had only pictures of places I've seen. This time, I made it into a gallery and will also hold pictures of my family and friends. With Bravenet's password protect feature, I can keep some photos private, like the pics of my little nieces.

"Hail to thee," my tribute page, finally includes my other fave personalities, with links to sites dedicated to them. For a long time, it contained only Samboy.

Oremus is Latin for "let us pray." Obviously, the page is about prayers. I cannot imagine having a homepage without including something about my Catholic faith. My faith is very important to me; it has helped my through some tough times.

Almost every webpage has an 'about' page which is about the site owner, naturally. Well, this is the about page. There is not much here that says anything about me, except perhaps that "I am a web-a-holic" logo and that "woman of strength and inner beauty" seal (i wonder if there's one that says, "woman of beauty and inner strength ," lol, i won't qualify for that one)...

This will continue to be a work in progress. There will be updates from time to time, something I failed to do with my old webpage because I got sidetracked with online chatting...oh well, that's another long story. :D

I would appreciate your comments about my webpage. Please do not forget to rate my site and sign my guest book.

Thank you very much.

Nayeli

P.S.:
Nayeli means I love you in the Zapotec language. No, this is not my real name but I like it. I use Nayeli as my online pseudonym, especially for this site and also for my blog. I prefer it over my real name because Nayeli is not as common. Besides, I believe I am an embarrassment to my namesake, who is considered as the epitome of beauty.

My site got awards!

ABOUT ME...
(as if anyone would care to know...but just humor me. :D)

I've never been good at describing myself....how do I start, ba? Maybe I'll start with my zodiac sign. I don't believe in the forecasts of the horoscope but I quite agree with the description of the personality traits.

I was born on September 11, making me a Virgo. According to the zodiac, the traditional traits of a Virgo are the following: modest and shy, meticulous and reliable, practical and diligent, and intelligent and analytical; on the dark side, a Virgo is fussy and a worrier, overcritical and harsh, and perfectionist and conservative. Hmmmm......let's see.....I am shy, yes. I am quiet by nature, almost timid, and only open up when I'm with close friends and people I am comfortable with. I like to believe I am down-to-earth (naks!), preferring to be in the sidelines. Yes, I think I have those Virgo traits. I'm not sure if other people would agree, though. Hahahaha.....

Me, according to my birthday...

Your Birthdate: September 11
Your birth on the 11th day of the month makes you something of a dreamer and an idealist.

You work well with people because you know how to use persuasion rather than force.

There is a strong spiritual side to your nature, and you may have intuitive qualities inherent in your make up, too.

You are very aware and sensitive, though often temperamental.

Although you have a good mind and you are very analytical, you may not be comfortable in the business world.

You are definitely creative and this influence tends to make you more of a dreamer than a doer.

Hmmmm....to borrow Alec Baldwin's dialogue in the film, "Mercury Rising," I would say: "My people skills are like my cooking skills... quick and tasteless."

Me, according to my tree...

What tree did you fall from?

Weeping Willow (Melancholy) --> I am usually pensive...

likes to be stress free --> who doesn't?

loves family life --> I don't think I'm domesticated enough

full of hopes and dreams -> I'm a dreamer

attractive --> who, me? Cannot be...

very empathetic --> I'm actually the mousy type but, yes, I've been called aggressive/assertive more than once

loves anything beautiful --> I beg to disagree

musically inclined -->I love music but I guess the feeling isn't mutual

loves to travel to exotic places --> if only I could (sigh)

restless --> ...one SN I use in chat is "restless pilgrim"... ok, I rest my case!

capricious --> unfortunately, yes

honest --> it's the best policy!

can be influenced but is not easy to live with when pressured --> Korek ka dyan!

sometimes demanding --> sometimes? That's an understatement! lol

good intuition --> I'm not sure about this

suffers in love until they find that one --> bingo!

loyal, steadfast partner --> I agree. Spin-a-win :D

loves to make others laugh --> duh! My sense of humor is as dry as the Sahara.
